Caring For Your New Plant

Congratulations! Your new plant has arrived! Here are some suggestions about what you can do to give it a great start.

Plants Potted in Soil (Beginner Plants)

When you receive a plant potted in soil:

  1. Carefully unwrap its leaves
  2. Take any tape off of the nursery pot
  3. Feel the soil to check if it is wet
  4. If the soil is still wet you are all set! If the soil is very dry, water it thoroughly.
  5. Place your plant in indirect light to let it adjust to its new home.
I highly suggest picking up your plant when it is fully soaked to feel how heavy it is. Then you can just pick it up anytime to test its soil moisture level. If the pot is very light, it needs some water! Most plants require a weekly watering but some can be just as happy when only getting watered every two weeks.

Plants Potted in Moss & Perlite

When you receive a plant potted in moss & perlite:

  1. Carefully unwrap its leaves
  2. Take any tape off of the nursery pot
  3. Switch to a different potting medium (if desired)
  4. Place your plant in indirect light to let it adjust to its new home.
If not potted in soil, my plants will come to you shipped in moss and perlite. Many plants can happily live in this mixture. If you don’t prefer this medium, any of these plants can be switched to soil, leca, or pon.
If you choose to keep your plant in moss, remember that it will need more fertilizing than a plant in nutrient dense soil.

Refresh Your Plant's Look!

You can change your plant’s look whenever you please! Just put the “nursery pot”, in which your plant was shipped, inside of another amazing looking “cover pot”. Using this technique, you can update your current plant aesthetic by simply switching its cover pot for a different one better suited to the style you’re going for!
